Another New Single

Our two month trip last summer brought us to India, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia and Malaysia. I brought along an AKAI MPK mini play keyboard to capture some creative ideas while traveling. I started an exercise writing different chords progressions to evoke certain feelings – happy, dark, sad, uplifting, etc. I would use the AKAI (midi) into Logic on my laptop, and create instrumental tunes using mostly bass, keyboards and drums sounds. I did about 6 songs. No lyrics, just music.

During our time in Bali it was raining a lot. I had plenty of time to work on music. Bali is where I did this song, Mushroom Dream. The lyrics started to come together around Thanksgiving while on holiday in Tucson, AZ. In May I brought the midi track to summerfreeze (studio/producer) and then added the guitars and vocals in the studio. The cool/weird break part is Bdim (B diminished) which gives the song its psychedelic feel.
