About

I’m David.

My wife Laurie and I have shared the practice and teaching of Yoga together since 2000. After listening to Dr. Robert Svoboda talk about a travel experience he had in Varanasi, India, we planned our first trip to South Asia. We took a month off in February 2007 and travelled around India and Nepal. In 2010 we went back to India and Nepal for another month. We made friends over there who we still talk to today.

Life is short. So in November 2017 Laurie and I took a 1 year sabbatical. We bought a one-way ticket to India. Eventually we made our way onward to Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, South Africa, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador.

This website is a collection of stories from that trip and subsequent trips. There is also a fiction section for your entertainment 🙂

In March 2021 I was diagnosed with Stage IVb cancer (the most serious). As I look back I am so grateful that we traveled for those years and met so many wonderful people, many have become friends. We continue to travel internationally and we recently added Laos and Indonesia to our adventures. We also return regularly to many of the places we visited in 2017/2018 where we reconnect with the friends we’ve made along the way.

We own a Yoga studio, Sharing Yoga, in Concord, NH, where we both teach when we’re home.
